PRODUCT RUNWAY

=

I went to a fashion event recently where the clothing was all manufactured by interior design firms.  It was sponsored by IIDA...never heard of..."The IIDA Foundation is a not-for-profit (501c3), philanthropic organization whose primary mission is to advance interior design through education, research, and knowledge to benefit IIDA and the interior design profession."...got it.  Sort of. There were ladies dressed in flapper dresses made of tile, a geisha in linoleum flooring, and  all kinds of other oddities.

My favorite was this really cool vented dress made entirely out of office cubical fabric.  It was sustainable, stain-proof, and stand out.  Not quite ready to wear, but for sure worth a shot at making if you work in a cubical and go crazy in a pinch for a post work outfit.  I hope to see it on Jenna Fischer.

EARTH DAY

If only it was possible to ride around naked on a horse! Sadly, most of us are dependent on automobiles.  A way to make your ride a little more eco-sexy?  Lovecraft Bio-Fuels. Located in Silverlake (LA) they convert old diesel cars into lean, green, veggie oil machines.  The cost isn't to bad either, between $800 and $1300.

Not only are you doing something good for the earth, you can look like a Stepford Wife driving around town in a vintage Benz.  Adorable.

POLAROID 2.0

After hearing that Polaroid was closing its doors June 2008, First, I raced to every store I could find that had film in stock and paid through the nose for it.  Then, I got really sad.  I have always been a sucker for instant gratification, impatient, not one who is good with a wait, whatever...and Polaroids were right up my alley. They always make a party fun, for some reason, the lighting is always flattering, and odd little mistakes made the pictures so cool.  There was also something so ephemeral and at the same time permanent about them - the way they couldn't be deleted right away so history wasn't so instantaneously revised...

Now, I am happy to find out about The Impossible Project.  Their aim is "to re-start production of analog INTEGRAL FILM for vintage Polaroid cameras in 2010.  [They] have acquired Polaroid's old equipment, factory and seek your support." HOORAY!!!  The rationing is over!!! I am not only happy that I will be able to continue snapping away at parties, but also be able to enjoy killer artwork like the radness below...  Shake it, Shake it, Shake it, Shake it like an INTEGRAL FILM picture!

GOD OF WAR III

I am not much of a gamer, but I do have a few games that I am OBSESSED with.  One of them just so happens to have a new chapter who's gameplay was recently leaked onto YouTube, and it got me so pumped to spend hours indoors.  I don't know if it the sexy lead character, the sexy settings, the sexy ass kicking, the sexy Greek myths that remind me of when I was a kind and would rush up to the elementary school library on Library Day to beat all of the other kids to the big gory picture book on Greek Myths (like there would have been competition for it - HA!), or the fact that I am simply sexy-amazing at the game. Whatever the reason, all I know is that this game turns me into a dude halfway out the door to stand in line at Best Buy in a Star Trek costume counting down the days till they will let us girlfriend-less nerds in to pee ourselves as we hold it in our sweaty hands.

I am Kratos.
